■ The country urgently needs ORC power generation technology breakthrough and application

On November 7, 2014, in the latest national major energy-saving technology and equipment industrialization project implementation documents issued by the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, "medium-low-grade residual energy organic Rankine cycle (ORC) power generation" was included in the country's major key energy-saving technologies that need to be broken through.

On December 22, 2016, the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Industry" specifically pointed out that "strengthening technological research on organic Rankine cycle power generation, absorption heat exchange centralized heating, low-concentration gas power generation, etc., and promoting the recycling and utilization of medium and low-grade waste heat and pressure resources."

The "14th Five-Year Plan" circular economy development plan requires: Promote the resource utilization of industrial waste heat and pressure to achieve green, low-carbon circular development.

The expander technology used in ORC power generation systems internationally mainly includes: axial turbine, centripetal turbine, screw expander, and scroll expander. Centripetal turbines have the advantages of high isentropic efficiency, large power range, and reliable operation. Due to its high technical content, difficult design, high machining accuracy requirements, and related technologies blocked from China, the application of centripetal turbine technology in ORC products has not been realized in China before. Huahang Shengshi and Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics successfully developed the first centripetal ORC generator set in China.
